VIZIO M221NV 22-Inch Entire HD 1080p Went LCD TV
Bought this Television at Costco because of their 90 day return policy. Unfortunately in which wasn’t quite long enough: at 141 days the television tuner’s audio function been unsuccessful (although the non broadcast audio inputs nonetheless work). Even upon day 1, the particular sound quality was no much better than a $9 clock radio stations: very thin scenario + small rear taking pictures speakers contribute to unusually tinny sound (Individuals, what’s the fascination with extremely thin cases, in any case? It only makes the audio engineer’s job more difficult). In the past few weeks the photo has been flickering on / off. When the picture flickers back again on, the station indicator comes on, which could or might not mean that the signal has been lost because the video portion of the tuner is also screwing up. (Or my OTA aerial is not strong enough, or perhaps the Vizio’s tuner is not sensitive enough. Problem is intermittent, increasing in rate of recurrence)
Regarding the internet streaming function, it takes A couple of.5 to 3 units to handshake with Netflix via both WIFI and hard wired Ethernet cable before a movie sets out to play, or VIZIO M221NV to reboot movie playing from a long pause. Through comparison, a Roku container feeding into the same TV only requires 20 seconds to start out a movie via Wi-fi. Additionally, the TV provides lost track of your WIFI network 3 digit, requiring reentry a couple of times.
Positives are that the distant and case are nice looking (the case can be ultra thin!), and also the picture is bright enough when viewed straight on (there’s significant light falloff while viewed above or below your screen’s central axis, not as poor laterally).
Too bad until this TV’s reliability as well as functionality come up critically short or fall short in multiple groups. While many Amazon testimonials report high degrees of satisfaction with the Vizio manufacturer, from here it looks as being a crap shoot. Stung once, next time I’ll place less emphasis on specs at a low price, and look for better regarded brands evaluated on Amazon along with ConsumerSearch. Unfortunately, detailed Television reliability data is difficult to get. Maybe the next Television will cost me an extra $50. Worth it.
