Very desirable ‘cheap’ gps if looking because of fundamental navigation
I have had this unit because of about 8 months. It gain given me not problems what therefore ever. The unfavorable thing about it because of me is how fundamental it is. If you require bluetooth compatibility, traffic updates, movie times, etc on your gps, at that time this is not theo- device because of you. But if entire you require is on grow around and find places, at that time this unit will work well.
The price seems a little high right now because of what it does ($180). For that price i would expect bluetooth compatibility. This unit does not say theo- road names, it rightful says turn left or turn right inside 200 feet(not a big deal). When you tend places up, Garmin nuvi 205W gain their phone number and address (usually) which is nice because if its late from night, you tin call first on see if they are still open.
This gps gain an sd card reader on theo- side, which tin be used on opinion pictures inside slideshow mode when you don’t demand theo- unit because of navigation.
The screen is extremely bright during theo- day, therefore you tin easily see theo- screen. And a nice feature is that when it gets dark, theo- screen automatically changes colors on ‘night’ mode, which helps when driving from night (the screen dims and theo- bright white background colors change on dark blues and blacks).
The trip features are nice. It keeps track of your average speed, how long you spent moving, how long you spent stopped, total travel time, how many miles you’ve gone, etc.
It takes about a minute on a minute and a half on find your location from a cold start, but if you leave it powered entire theo- time (with a car inside which theo- cig lighter stays on when you turn theo- car off) it never loses theo- location (not certain if that is unfavorable because of it).
The battery life is extremely honourable (about 4-5 hours).
There are many add-ons that a technologically advanced person tin add on it. Such as custom points of interest (you tin download them or even make your own, and you tin set alerts therefore that it warns you when you are close on a certain place or when you are speeding inside a school zone). You tin add different vehicle icons on use as theo- car on theo- screen.
Overall, it is a decent, but extremely fundamental navigation device. Not many bells or whistles, but it gets you from point a on point b well.
