The finest compact camera i have always used
This camera is not perfect. If you are expected it toward manage the image quality or cheaply light performance of your canon dslr you will be disappointed. But the s90 is the beat compact camera i get ever used. You do get often than one discontinue of performance over the canon sd880is, my previous ultra-portable camera. The f2.0 lens, lower density sensor and improved software give you that.
Software matters upon the indicated small cameras and canon’s software is a pleasure toward use. The aperture girdle feature, which can be used toward control iso, shutter speed, aperture and other functions is a pleasure toward use and has a very cool visual ui upon the back select when inner use (think of the way the old nikon cameras showed you the aperture girdle inner the viewfinder).
The camers is not quite as pocketable as the regular equater of sd powershot cameras, but the improved image quality and control facilely make increase for that.
I like the Canon PowerShot S90. It has tons of manual controls, approximately all obvious inner function without reading the manual if you are a canon regular. They get increased the amount of on-screen documentation. The auto iso feature is better than before. They get that many prosumers don’t want a ostentatious and will take a noisy photo over either a ostentatious photo or one too slow toward aid hold.
I typically own two cameras: a very small camera and a very large camera. This is my small camera and i would surmise that inner the small camera department, if you care about cheaply light performance and image quality often than streak factor, you will love the one camera.
How can it be better? Well, if it had the sensor they put inner the canon 7d, it would be approximately better. I suspect canon is working upon so extreme a camera. Size will be the major challenge there.
So why the 5 stars if it is not perfect? Because placed at the one price and inner the one size range, there is simply no better camera upon the market that i know of.
